WHY BECOME A MEMBER?
The Christopher Dresser Society endeavours to promote knowledge and understanding of the most significant designer of his generation. Dresser’s foresight, his adaptability and pragmatism marked him out as a model for the consultant designers who would follow in his wake. His prolific output and cutting edge designs for a host of well-known manufacturers are equalled in number by a huge repository of designs for less well-known factories. He also worked for companies outside of the United Kingdom making him a global designer by modern day standards.
However, there is still much to learn about Dresser. The Society hopes to generate new scholarship into his work, and understanding of his practices and those of his contemporary Victorian designers.
Whatever your interest in Dresser, whether as scholar, design student, curator, collector, dealer or someone with a passion for the visual arts, we invite you to support us in bringing Dresser to greater recognition in the world of Design History. With your support we will provide access to the best information and research by building on the significant network of individuals and institutions that have supported Dresser so far.

Membership of the Society will entitle each Member to:
- A newsletter at least quarterly; available by e mail or post;
- A Journal once a year, available by post;
- Access to a Members Only area of the Society web site;
- Discounted fees for visits to museums or collections organized by the Society;
- Private viewings of exhibitions, collections, or events organized by the Society.
